Indulge in these elegant chocolate domes filled with a luscious praline layer and an airy mascarpone mousse. A perfect dessert for special occasions!


Ingredients

For the Chocolate Shell:

  • 200 g dark chocolate (70%), melted

For the Praline Layer:

  • 100 g praline paste (or finely blended caramelized hazelnuts)
  • 50 g crushed feuilletine (or crushed wafer biscuits)
  • 50 g melted milk chocolate

For the Mascarpone Mousse:

  • 250 g mascarpone cheese
  • 200 ml heavy cream (cold)
  • 50 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Decoration (Optional):

  • Cocoa powder
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Caramelized hazelnuts

Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Chocolate Shells

  1. Melt the dark chocolate and coat the inside of silicone dome molds using a pastry brush.
  2. Chill in the fridge for 15 minutes, then apply a second layer for strength.
  3. Refrigerate until set.

2️⃣ Prepare the Praline Layer

  1. Mix the praline paste with the crushed feuilletine and melted milk chocolate until combined.
  2. Spread a thin layer into each hardened chocolate shell and refrigerate.

3️⃣ Make the Mascarpone Mousse

  1. In a bowl, whisk mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Pipe or spoon the mousse into the chocolate domes over the praline layer.

4️⃣ Assemble & Chill

  1. Smooth the tops and freeze for 2 hours to set.
  2. Carefully unmold the domes.

5️⃣ Decorate & Serve

  1. Dust with cocoa powder, add chocolate shavings, or drizzle with caramelized hazelnuts.
  2. Let them sit for 10 minutes at room temperature before serving.

Notes

🍊 Citrus Twist? Add orange zest to the mousse for extra freshness.
Mocha Version? Mix 1 tsp of espresso powder into the mascarpone mousse.
🌰 Nutty Delight? Use almond praline instead of hazelnut for a different flavor.
